Celebrating a 10-Year Journey of Healing

Ten years ago, Shalom Circles founder Azeb was diagnosed with breast cancer. The difficulty journey of treatment, remission, and recovery led her to seek out community support and fellowship. But it wasn’t always easy to find resources embedded within the Ethiopian-Eritrean community in her area.

Through this process, Azeb realized that this was a common challenging many of her family, friends and peers faced, whether their families were struggling with difficult health diagnoses, educational challenges, financial hardship. Joining various support groups for breast cancer survivors ultimately encouraged her to give back and provide resources for other families in need of support through difficult times.

On Saturday, May 11, 2024, Shalom Circles members will be coming together for a virtual charity walk to recognize all of the collective support, sharing, and faith that has made this organization a source of comfort and aid to our various communities.
